Individual therapy involves one-to-one sessions where we dive deep into your unique experiences. It all begins with a psychological assessment and formulation — a collaborative effort to unravel the layers of your concerns. Together, we explore the roots of the issue, identify patterns that might be keeping you stuck, and set goals for your recovery.
What sets my approach apart? It's all about you. Your individuality, the nature of your challenges, and your recovery goals shape the path we take.
Therapeutic Approaches
As a registered psychologist trained in multiple therapeutic modalities, I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches tailored to your needs:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) — Identify and modify unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours
- Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) — Cultivate self-compassion and manage difficult emotions like shame and guilt
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — Accept thoughts and feelings without judgment, commit to values-aligned action
- Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) — Process and heal from traumatic experiences through guided bilateral stimulation
- Schema Therapy — Explore lifelong patterns and beliefs influencing how you perceive yourself and relate to others
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) — Identify and harmonise different aspects of your internal self
- Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) — Improve emotional wellbeing by addressing relationship dynamics
- Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) — Concentrate on strengths and solutions for positive change
