Compassion First
Compassion is not something I practise occasionally; it is the lens through which I approach every aspect of my work. This means treating you with genuine warmth and care, holding your struggles without judgement, and helping you begin to extend that same compassion to yourself.
Relational at Heart
I believe that healing happens in relationship. For many people — particularly those who have experienced trauma — the therapeutic relationship itself becomes part of the medicine. I take that responsibility seriously, and I work hard to create a space where you feel genuinely safe to be yourself. Within that safety, we’ll also identify what you want from this work: together we set meaningful goals and revisit them throughout our journey, so our time stays connected to what matters most to you.
Rooted in the Present, Curious About the Past
My work focuses on what is happening for you in the here and now — the symptoms, the patterns, and the coping strategies that may be keeping you stuck. From there, we gently explore the root causes: the earlier experiences and unmet needs that may be shaping your present life in ways you haven’t yet been able to see clearly.
You Are the Expert
Above all, I hold one belief: you are the expert in your own story. No one knows your experience the way you do. I think of it like writing a book. You already know the chapters that have been written — your past. The chapter you’re living now, you can describe better than anyone, and I’m here to help you make sense of it. And the chapters still unwritten? Those are entirely yours to author. You decide where the story goes; I’m here to support your vision and walk alongside you as you write it. You are in the driver’s seat, and I’m beside you — helping you find the way to where you want to arrive.
Connecting You to Your Own Wisdom
I believe that people possess a deep inner wisdom — and that much of what therapy does is help us reconnect with it. My hope is that, by the time our work together ends, you leave knowing and deeply understanding yourself: able to tap into your own inner wisdom, equipped with practical tools and skills to navigate whatever life brings, and free to live in a way that aligns with your values and your sense of purpose. That understanding, and those tools, are yours to keep.
